Weekly Family Update 12/13/21

Thank you so much to all families who joined us Saturday for the PTA Drive Through Santa Breakfast! It snowed at the PERFECT time to make it a truly magical morning!

Please remember that this Friday, December 17, is an Early Release day to let everyone kick off their Winter Break a little early!

This is the last Family Update of 2021! I hope that you enjoy a wonderful Winter Break! We look forward to seeing everyone back (symptom-free!) on January 3!

Weather Procedures
While I really, really don't want to think about winter weather, it's that time of year to make sure everyone is aware of our emergency weather procedures. You can find our processes, including our Late Start Schedule, by clicking here or looking on the D114 website. Please know that, at its December meeting, the Board will consider final approval for a plan that allows us to use remote learning in lieu of calling an emergency day. The draft plan is linked here.

If approved, our options for emergency weather will be:
*Late Start Day; or
*Snow Day to be made up either on Casimir Pulaski Day or by adding an attendance day at the end of the year; or
*Remote Learning Day, which would not need to be made up at all.
I'll keep you informed on the final plan options, and please know that we will communicate as far in advance as possible with any changes to our schedule.

HELP WANTED!!!!
Fox Lake Grade School District 114 is looking for full time paraprofessionals. Full time positions are available at Lotus Elementary School and Stanton Middle School. Must have a PARA License (SUB or PEL also acceptable). Pay ranges $12 - $15 per hour. To apply, follow this link. You may also visit our district website www.d114.com and select Employment > Job Postings.
