Today's Updates

Remote Learning

MONITORING STUDENTS IN HANGOUTS
Families---I know we are asking A LOT from you right now. THANK YOU for all you're doing. 💖

With that said--we have a request. PLEASE monitor your students when they are in live lessons/group sessions. This means ANYTIME they are in Hangout/Meet, please be sure you keep an eye to make sure they are using appropriate language and behavior. This includes using their phones to allow other kids' voices into the sessions using apps like HouseParty. We have SO MANY of our students making great choices and trying to learn...kids making bad decisions negatively impacts everyone. Please note that we are partnering with the Police Department to follow up on any student behaviors that violate our technology policy or impact student safety during remote learning and there will be consequences for these incidents. We need your help, too, though. Thanks to EVERY family who is already on top of this!

IF YOUR CHILD NEEDS A BOOK TO READ...
New book resource! Thanks to Ms VanHoorelbeke and Mrs Cwiak, we have a new resource for you get to FREE books!

Mackin is an online free library of books and ebooks, and we have these books until the end of the year!

Here's why we picked this as a resource to share:
1.  We set up a Lotus one with all Elementary package for free (8000+books) along with other resources.
2.  Stanton has the Elementary and Middle School for lower leveled books if need.
3.  VERY SIMPLE log in for both schools
4.  VERY EASY to navigate
5.  Love the visuals under categories
6.  Other extras as well.
7.  It;s all READY TO GO, and we hope you like it as well.  Let us know what you think.  :)

Ongoing Updates
GRAB AND GO
We are now doing Grab and Go on Monday and Thursday mornings ONLY from 7:30-10:00 at Stanton. You can grab "3 for Me" and everything else you need but we also limit how many staff members need to come in and how often we are asking families to come to school. You can still get Chromebooks, school supplies, books, and more. Social distancing is KEY to us getting back to normal!

It is our goal that EVERY student have access to a device and the Internet so they can engage in learning. We know it's hard if there's only one device in your home, so if you need to borrow so everyone can work, please come by Grab and Go on Mondays or Thursdays--we'll have Chromebooks to loan!

CYBER READ ALOUD WITH A NEW READER EACH DAY!

Want more awesome learning ideas? Click here to get to our Family Resources list--we're adding to it daily. And don't forget the D114 Remote Learning Center!
