Today's Updates
Do you want to receive up to $182.40 from the state of Illinois to help pay for food for each child in your home?
The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) launched the Pandemic EBT application for families on May 1 at https://abe.illinois.gov/abe/access/ . The goal is to help families pay for meals for kids during the closure of school. Since we are already a part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program--which is how we offer free breakfast and lunch to all students--all our students and families can apply for this benefit!
THIS IS HUGE FOR OUR FAMILIES! ALL OUR FAMILIES...every one!...is eligible to receive the following benefit. Per my communication from the state:
"The benefit amount is a daily meal cost for the number of school days in the month for each eligible child in your home. For March, there were 10 school closure days. For April, there were 22 school closure days. March and April P-EBT benefts will be combined into one issuance for a total of $182.40 per eligible child in your home. Benefts WILL BE ISSUED through the end of the school year."
If you already qualify for SNAP, you will automatically get the benefit. If you don't, then please apply here to get your benefit!!!

Ongoing Updates
GRAB AND GO
We are now doing Grab and Go on Monday and Thursday mornings ONLY from 7:30-10:00 at Stanton. You can grab "3 for Me" and everything else you need but we also limit how many staff members need to come in and how often we are asking families to come to school. You can still get Chromebooks, school supplies, books, and more. Social distancing is KEY to us getting back to normal!
It is our goal that EVERY student have access to a device and the Internet so they can engage in learning. We know it's hard if there's only one device in your home, so if you need to borrow so everyone can work, please come by Grab and Go on Mondays or Thursdays--we'll have Chromebooks to loan!
IF YOUR CHILD NEEDS A BOOK TO READ...
Mackin is an online free library of books and ebooks, and we have these books until the end of the year!
