October 13 Family Update

Thank you to all families who returned the preference survey. We are thrilled to say that we can safely welcome back ALL students who signed up for in-person learning!!!! We'll be sharing LOTS more information with our in-person families in the next week about building procedures and safety plans.

Please note that we will be counting on our families to help keep everyone safe as we launch in-person learning. This means we need you to:

*Complete daily self-certification--details on how to do this coming soon! You'll use Skyward to quickly report each day.

*Keep your child(ren) home if they have ANY of the potential COVID-19 symptoms:

*Transport your child(ren) if at all possible.
*Immediately pick up your child(ren) if we call you to do so.
*Help your child(ren) remember the 4 W's:
1. Wash your hands.
2. Watch your space--stay 6 ft apart.
3. Wear your mask! All the time unless you're outside or eating.
4. Wait your turn--especially when going to the bathroom or walking in the building.

Again--lots more building-specific information coming as we get closer to launch! Please reach out to me or your principal with any questions--if you have a question, it's likely others do, too!

Please find, linked here, an in-depth presentation of our launch plan.

If you'd prefer to just look at the slides, they are linked here and attached to today's email.

As we've done along the way, we've made a Fast Facts document to list all the key updates, including those we add based on amazing questions from YOU! This will be a live document, updated regularly. I'll keep it linked in the Morning Announcements so you always have access.

Return to School COVID Dashboard Update: 10/9/20

The dashboard with our most current data looks like this:

Given our current data, we remain clear to continue planning for the Hybrid launch.

You will notice that the data related to trends in hospitalizations has been removed from the dashboard. Per the LCHD:

The COVID-19 Like Illness Hospital Admissions in Lake County metric is excellent at measuring the COVID-19 system impact and burden to hospitals and healthcare operations in Lake County as new cases of COVID-19 rise and fall.  The good news is that in Lake County the number of hospitalizations and deaths has declined and stabilized since June 2020.  Because of this stabilization we are going to remove this metric at this time, but will continue to monitor and may reinstate this metric if the current situation changes in the future.

Using the parameters of this data for the county and for our zip codes, we are clear to proceed with Hybrid planning!

How does this work?
1. Consider the top 2 indicators (red line around them). Where do they place us in combination?
2. Then, apply local zip code data. Does local data look at least as good as county data? If yes, proceed. If no, call Health Department for guidance.

Innovation Learning

We are again partnering with Innovation Learning to offer onsite childcare for you remote days/after school care once we launch the Hybrid model. Please see below for program details...

Just a reminder that--FOR NOW-- there are 3 ways to get meals and 3 ways to get student materials:

MEALS:

1. Daily bus runs

2. Grab and Go at Lotus daily 8:00-10:00AM (9:00-10:00 on Fridays)

3. Early Bird Meal grab at BOTH SITES daily 6:15-6:45AM

MATERIALS:

1. Friday bus runs

2. Pick up at Lotus Grab and Go Friday between 9:00-10:00AM or Monday-Thursday from 8:00-10:00AM

3. Weekend pick up from totes located outside the Lotus Main Entrance (under camera surveillance for safety) anytime from Friday at 3:00PM-Monday at 7:00AM! You must call the Lotus office (847-973-4100) to request that materials be put in the weekend pick up tote. You can make this a PERMANENT ARRANGEMENT or you can call by 2:00PM Friday so we make sure your materials for that week are put in the tote. Both school's materials will be picked up from Lotus.

Starting the week of 10/19/20, we will have to stop bus runs for meals and materials in order to run our bus routes for students. We will have centralized meal (3 for me) pick ups on Tuesdays and Fridays and materials distributions (Friday only) at Lakefront Park from 8:00-11:00AM. If you are unable to pick up meals or materials, please contact me directly so we can make an alternate plan. We want all our students to have meals and their materials for learning. Please email at heather.friziellie@foxlake114.org or call me at 847-973-4028.
