D114 Family Update: D114 Weekly Family Updates 12/9/24

Thank you to everyone who come to and helped with Breakfast with Santa on Saturday! Such a fun time for all!

The temperatures are dropping, so please be sure students come to school dressed warmly. If you need assistance with winter gear, please contact either school office. We'll be glad to help!

Stanton Principal Search

As you may or may not know, Mr. Jeff Sefcik, Principal at Stanton Middle School, is retiring at the end of the school year. We are beginning the search process to fill his very big shoes.

We truly hope you will share your input to help us find our next principal using the survey linked here. Please share your thoughts on or before TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10.

ALL D114 families are asked to share your thoughts no matter how old your kids may be! We are one team, all in, and this is a big decision for us!

FREE Movie!

Fox Lake Lion's Club is sponsoring a free Holiday Movie, Jingle Jangle on December 14th at the Classic Cinemas in Fox Lake. A non perishable food donation to the Grant Township Food Pantry would be appreciated. Please see the attached flier for more information.

Congrats To...

A huge congratulations to Matt Peters and Natalie Udstuen for being honored with the Physical Educator Administrator of the Year award! Your commitment to supporting daily physical education is truly inspiring!

Know Anyone Who...

If you know anyone who would be interested in being a Van Driver, Sub Van Driver, or Bus Driver, please have them apply using this link. We can TRAIN bus drivers ourselves if they don't have a CDL, and van drivers don't need the CDL!!!

Attendance Matters!!!!

PLEASE keep making sure your children come to school unless they are truly sick . If you need any help in getting your child to school, please reach out so we can help! Our attendance and absences are submitted to the state and factor into our school status. More importantly, a day missed is a day of lost learning!

Thank you to everyone who joined us this weekend for Santa's Breakfast! It was so wonderful to see so many families, teachers, and staff in attendance. We hope everyone had a truly jolly good time!!

Our next PTA meeting is TODAY, Monday, December 9th at 6:00 pm in the Lotus library! Don't have anyone to watch your kiddos? Bring them with you! Members of the National Junior Honor Society from Stanton will be with us to keep them entertained while you get caught up on what's happening this month. Can't join in person? Join us on Google Meets!

Along with sharing our routine updates, we'll also be looking for your thoughts on the upcoming Family Fun Fair and our big fundraiser of the year, Day of Service!

Don't forget to join our Facebook group to see the meeting highlights and more, and while you're at it, join the PTA here! Membership dues are only $6 for the whole year!
