Today's Updates

Remote Learning
As you have likely seen, Governor Pritzker has announced that they "stay at home" order remains in place through May 30. Again--we knew it was coming, but it's another blow to our hopes for "normal". Take care of you and your family, and remember that we are here for you!

New Choice Menus are Out!
We mailed out the next set of Choice Menus today--They're posted on the Remote Learning page in case you need them.

NOTES
2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders--We mailed home the April Scholastic News to you, so please read and enjoy!
6th graders--We mailed home the novel The Giver (which is awesome!!!!), and your teachers will give more guidance on assignments related to the book.

Desk and Locker Pack Up
We are packing up desks and lockers starting at Lotus. We'll be in touch ASAP with a plan for how we will get the kids' materials home. If, between now and then, there's something you need from your child's desk or locker--at either school--please let us know, and we can have it ready for pick up at Grab and Go.

Family Survey
Knowing the we are not coming back together face to face for the rest of the year, we'd like to know how our families are doing.

I'd sure appreciate it if you'd take just a few minutes to complete this survey by Wednesday, April 29. I'll post it every day to remind you, and the purpose is for us to be better able to support our families during the extended closure. Thanks in advance for giving your 2 cents! ðŸ™‚ Thanks to those of you who already completed the survey!!!!

This Week's Spirit Week

Here are this week's Spirit Days!!!!
TWIN DAY FUN!

Today is FAVORITE FRIDAY! Can't wait to see your favorite hats!

Next week, our spirit weeks will roll into an ABC Countdown!!! Here's a sneak peek at the first week...
Thanks to Mrs. Lorenz at Lotus for putting this together.

Ongoing Updates
GRAB AND GO
We are now doing Grab and Go on Monday and Thursday mornings ONLY from 7:30-10:00 at Stanton. You can grab "3 for Me" and everything else you need but we also limit how many staff members need to come in and how often we are asking families to come to school. You can still get Chromebooks, school supplies, books, and more. Social distancing is KEY to us getting back to normal!

It is our goal that EVERY student have access to a device and the Internet so they can engage in learning. We know it's hard if there's only one device in your home, so if you need to borrow so everyone can work, please come by Grab and Go on Mondays or Thursdays--we'll have Chromebooks to loan!

IF YOUR CHILD NEEDS A BOOK TO READ...

Mackin is an online free library of books and ebooks, and we have these books until the end of the year!
How do you get into it?

My 5th grade son's class did a virtual tour of the Museum of Natural History and he LOVED it! He was amazed to learn about the history of humans and has talked about it for 2 days straight!  Thought I'd share it here with you in case it's a fun "field trip" you can take!

Want more awesome learning ideas? Click here to get to our Family Resources list--we're adding to it daily. And don't forget the D114 Remote Learning Center!
