Today's Updates

Remote Learning--More Information
As we launch our added eLearning plan, please be sure to watch this video:
or take a look at
the slides (in case you want to see them without my voice) so you can have the live links
to get the big picture on how we're adding eLearning to the choice menus you've already been getting---it's now Remote Learning 2.0 in D114!!!

Please know that we will have eLearning ready to do for April 10, which is officially a District holiday for Good Friday. These are optional, but we wanted to make sure to launch the full first week schedule, so we sure hope our students will join us for the Friday tasks if at all possible.

We are here to help...and please DO NOT put too much pressure on yourself or your children. This is new for all of us, and we are SO GRATEFUL to our families 💓

KUDOS TO OUR FABULOUS STAFF FOR TAKING THE LEAP INTO eLEARNING! They are working so hard to make sure learning continues!

Internet Assistance--Updated Information!
Many Internet and cellular companies are offering to upgrade your current home Internet service for free. Parents can start by signing in to their website and checking their upgrade options or by calling them directly to see if you can get faster Internet at home.
Several companies also offer free or low-cost home Internet service based on specific criteria. Check the Illinois School Board of Education's website for more information on these. Use the filter "Free Internet Access" on the left menu of their website.
  • Spectrum offers free wifi for 60 days to any household with a K-12 or college student in the house.
  • AT&T offers free wifi to households that participate in the National School Lunch Program or Head Start.
  • Comcast/ Xfinity offers home Internet for $10 per month through the Internet Essentials program for homes that participate in the National School Lunch Program, Medicaid, SNAP, and other programs. They are also providing wifi for free nationwide (but you have to be near a building that is offering it). You can also call Comcast and see if you can get faster service for no additional charge or maybe a small increase.
  • Mediacom is increasing bandwidth at no extra cost.

This Week's Spirit Week

Here's this week's Spirit Week plan:

Please share pictures with your child's teacher(s) and me!
Thanks to Mrs. Lorenz at Lotus for putting this together. We'll be doing Spirit Weeks every week until we are all back together!!!!

Ongoing Updates

GRAB AND GO
We are now doing Grab and Go on Monday and Thursday mornings ONLY from 7:30-10:00 at Stanton. You can grab "3 for Me" and everything else you need but we also limit how many staff members need to come in and how often we are asking families to come to school. You can still get Chromebooks, school supplies, books, and more. Social distancing is KEY to us getting back to normal!

It is our goal that EVERY student have access to a device and the Internet so they can engage in learning. We know it's hard if there's only one device in your home, so if you need to borrow so everyone can work, please come by Grab and Go on Mondays or Thursdays--we'll have Chromebooks to loan!
