I hope you enjoyed the weekend!
At this week's Board of Education meeting, we'll be reviewing our eLearning Plan for approval so that we are ready---just in case--to use remote learning should we have inclement weather. The plan is linked here if you'd be interested in reading it. Your feedback is--as always--welcome!
Please note:
IF YOUR CHILD TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID...
Please alert the school office so we may inform the nurse.
Students are expected to return to school as soon as they meet the following criteria:
• Free of fever for at least 24 hours (without medication)
• Free of vomiting and or diarrhea for at least 24 hours.
Students are STRONGLY encouraged to wear a mask when returning to school to prevent the spread of illness to others.
Masks are available in the office for all staff who wish to wear one.
Please contact Heather Friziellie, Superintendent of Schools (heather.friziellie@foxlake114.org), if you have any questions!
Therapy Dogs--Repeat Message
We will be welcoming school therapy dogs as part of the school community at both Lotus and Stanton. Students may be in contact with Otis and/or Tobias (Lotus) and Oakley (Stanton), throughout the school year, under the supervision of our staff. Our therapy dogs are certified, have received all necessary vaccinations, and will be working in our school to help improve the lives of our students academically and emotionally.
Therapy dogs provide many benefits. They help children learn compassion, empathy, responsibility, respect and self-discipline. They offer comfort and studies have shown that even short amounts of time with a dog can decrease levels of anxiety and increase emotional security.
If you DO NOT want your child/children to interact with therapy dogs or if you have any questions, please email or call Heather Friziellie (Superintendents of Schools) at heather.friziellie@foxlake114.org.
Attendance Matters!!!!
I want to thank you for making sure your children are getting to school. Our attendance rates continue to improve, and that's because of our partnership. PLEASE keep making sure your children come to school unless they are truly sick . If you need any help in getting your child to school, please reach out so we can help!
