Today's Updates

Remote Learning
Did you know that we had over 380 students working on iReady in a day!!! That's awesome!

YOU ARE MAKING THE DIFFERENCE, FAMILIES!!!! Thank you for jumping into this crazy journey with us. The D114 staff is working so very hard to stay connected with our students and keep them learning...and that can't happen without your support, too!!!!

New choice menus will be mailed out later this week--remember, our goal is that students do BOTH the eLearning their teachers continue to share AND the choice menus if at all possible!

If that is too much for your family, then focus on the eLearning tasks from your teacher(s). They are planning specifically for their classes, and we don't want kids to miss out on their fabulous work.

If eLearning is too much for your family or you choose to NOT participate in virtual platforms, then please focus on . Students will NOT be penalized for making this choice, and the work will still be scored as "complete" or "incomplete".

What ISN'T OK is for kids to do nothing, and we are here to help families through making this all work.

We'll won't stop reaching out...including home visits...to make sure we connect with each student! They are too important to us!!!!

If you need help, reach out to your teacher(s), principals, me, or any D114 staff member. WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!

Please know that we will have eLearning ready to do for April 10, which is officially a District holiday for Good Friday. These are optional, but we wanted to make sure to launch the full first week schedule, so we sure hope our students will join us for the Friday tasks if at all possible.

We are here to help...and please DO NOT put too much pressure on yourself or your children. This is new for all of us, and we are SO GRATEFUL to our families 💓

2020 CENSUS REQUEST
If you have not done so already, we would like to encourage you to complete your 2020 Census online at www.my2020census.gov or by phone at 1-844-330-2020.

You must have your Census ID, which was mailed to each household by the U.S. Census Bureau. If you prefer to complete a paper Census, they will be mailed out by mid-April to those who have not yet responded.

The 2020 Census aims to count every individual in the United States, and that includes children. The data collected impacts many aspects of your community, including programs and services that are critical for schools, students, and younger children, such as:

Special education, Head Start, after-school programs and classroom technology.
Food assistance, including free and reduced-price school lunches.
Maternal and child health programs.

Please complete your 2020 Census and help make sure our school district continues to receive adequate federal funding that will help our students grow and thrive.

Remember that if you are filling out the census for your home, you should count everyone who is living there as of April 1, 2020. That includes anyone who is living and sleeping there most of the time — that could include grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the children of friends.

Thank you for your support of this important work!!!!

This Week's Spirit Week

Ongoing Updates

GRAB AND GO
We are now doing Grab and Go on Monday and Thursday mornings ONLY from 7:30-10:00 at Stanton. You can grab "3 for Me" and everything else you need but we also limit how many staff members need to come in and how often we are asking families to come to school. You can still get Chromebooks, school supplies, books, and more. Social distancing is KEY to us getting back to normal!

It is our goal that EVERY student have access to a device and the Internet so they can engage in learning. We know it's hard if there's only one device in your home, so if you need to borrow so everyone can work, please come by Grab and Go on Mondays or Thursdays--we'll have Chromebooks to loan!
