August 10 Weekly Family Update

We are full steam ahead in planning for the Fall and FULL REMOTE LEARNING! Our staff has already completed hundreds of hours of summer work to plan for logistics and instruction for our amazing students' learning. We are so excited about this school  year and, while it may not be starting the way ANY of us would like, we are going to make it GREAT!

Here are some key updates for you--I'll add them to the Facts Facts document (see below), but want to make sure you see them here:

*Lotus teacher assignments and Stanton Student schedules will be mailed out this Friday, August 14 to ALL REGISTERED STUDENTS. If you have not completed registration or have a residency issue, a placement/schedule will NOT be sent home.

*We will host a Drive Through Materials Pick Up on Wednesday, August 19 at both sites from 8:00AM-12:00AM. More details and additional times for those who cannot pick up at this time are coming soon. We will be assigning students in grades 2-8 with Chromebooks and are attempting to get devices for our PreK-1st Graders as well. I'll have updates on this next week.

*Virtual Meet the Teacher will happen during the afternoon of Wednesday, August 19. All of these sessions will be recorded in case you cannot view at the time of the live session. Again--more details coming soon, but please mark your calendar for both events!

*Grab and Go meals will continue through the week of August 17 with pick up on Monday and Thursday at Lotus. Starting August 24, we will deliver meals by bus route so all our students have a breakfast and lunch. I'll post and push out the schedule for this and we will also send out the menus once we are up and running. We hope this will take one thing off our families' busy plates.

*Each Friday, our buses will also deliver any handout materials for students by grade. This can include hard copy papers, supplies, books, etc.

*I emailed the updated supply lists last week, but they are linked here and attached to this week's email to make finding them easy. We tried to really scale back on the supplies. If you ordered supply kits, they will be available for you at materials pick up on August 19.

*I'll do an update on all this at this week's Board of Education meeting (Tuesday at 5:30PM). If you'd like to join, you can do so using these links:

There will be no changes to our plans and this will be a simple big picture update on our plans for all.

Please also be sure to check FAST FACTS FOR REMOTE LEARNINGIt will be a living document to add to as we get clearer on details and revise as/when we need to. There's information on school hours, sample student schedules, information on supply lists and MORE. Please review and let me know if you have suggestions for additions or if you have questions.

Remember, the first day of school for K-8 students is Monday, August 24 (full day) and Monday, August 31 for our PreK students (half days).

INNOVATION LEARNING AND CAMP DUNCAN PROGRAM DETAILS
As I emailed last week, I'm thrilled to share that Innovation Learning AND Camp Duncan can provide on site supervision/remote learning support to K-8 students as needed for staff and our families. Here is information for the programming planned.:
